Shitty F-Bombs...

Sunday while at the water park with some friends and the kids, Goose came up to me to tattle on her brother (she does this a lot). She said "Dude said a bad word." I asked her what he said because most of the time it's something like poop, butt or booby. Her response; "He said F*** You." I was flabbergasted. We are slowly hearing things from them that you wouldn't normally hear from a 3 and 5 year old. Including but not limited to; shitty, baby momma, baby daddy, what's up hommie, they're gonna have sex and more that I can't think of right now. They are slowly realizing what time out is and doing surprisingly well with it. Don't get me wrong, they (especially Goose) usually cry the whole time but afterwards, we have a talk and I let them know why they were in time out and why it was unacceptable.

Thursday was Dude's birthday and we celebrated on Saturday with a smallish group of our family and friends. I believe he had a great time and Goose did too so it was worth it.

Things aren't all lollipops though. We have had a few very rough days and my husband is having a harder time at this than I imagined. But we'll make it. There is an aunt that is interested in taking them but they can't seem to get a home study scheduled yet. I think if she's a good person, then that would be best for the kids. But until then, we're going forward expecting to have them for awhile. Gotta get Dude signed up for kindergarten which is something I've never had to deal with before so it's pretty nerve wracking.

Will keep my blog updated but until then, here are some cute pictures of their backs lol.

Helping me with the groceries.

Checking out the big fish at Bass Pro.

Waiting on the fireworks to start. They were SO excited!

Kind of hard to see but this is Uncle "J" *(foster dad) holding Goose and standing beside Dude. Goose was a little scared at first.

*We have told them they can call us Uncle J and Aunt B.

Well the Waiting Game is Over...

From 2 to 4...

I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to post the news. Got a phone call on Tuesday the 12th asking us to take a brother and sister sibling group. A 4, almost 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. After a little bit of consideration, we said yes and I went to pick them up. It has since been a roller coaster of ups and downs but I think in the long run, it'll be more ups than downs. They definitely miss their mom and bed times are terrible. I hope they have a visit with her soon and I want her to know that I'm not here to take her kids. So tonight we're making cute picture frames for her to show her how much they lover her. I hope she appreciates them.

For privacy reasons, he will be referred to as Dude and she is Goose from here on out. I plan to post a few pics (faces hidden of course) soon.

So now we're just washing kid clothes, playing outside, enrolling in daycare, going to doctor's appointments and getting Dude ready for kindergarten.

We had a hearing on Thursday that didn't really do much. There's an aunt that is getting a home study done to see if they can stay with her. For their sake, I hope she's a good person and they can live with someone familiar. But their worker is pretty convinced that she won't pass the home study. So we'll see I guess...

Still Waiting...

During our final training class, there were 3 couples that already had placements. We just KNEW it wouldn't be long before we got the call. It has only been 2 weeks but it feels like forever. We signed up for 0-4 years for our first child/children. May change that later but that's what we're comfortable with right now.

I can honestly say that I'm a little nervous about the whole process. I've been reading a few blogs about other foster parents who have been doing this a little while and have already had a few children in their homes. Some of them make the case workers and the "system" sound terrible. I sure hope that isn't the case here being in a much smaller area, but I guess we'll see.

We're supposed to be hearing from our Licensing Worker any day now. If we don't hear from her by next week, I am to call her...
